Club Training Day

Saturday 6 September

This Saturday!

Player attendance required

A big thank you to everyone who has registered to play this Summer. Registrations are now closed and we have a record number of players and teams.

Of course, this means we need a record number of volunteers so please read our plea for coaches below and consider getting involved.

Note:

  • Wear sports gear and good footwear, not your netball uniform

  • Don't forget the sunscreen and bring water

  • The standard no jewellery rules apply, including no taped over piercings (more on jewellery below)

Uniform orders

Orders placed via PlayHQ will be available for collection on Saturday.

Jackets and customised hoodies take approximately six weeks to make, so availability depends on when you ordered.

Coaches urgently needed

This upcoming season is—without exaggeration—our biggest yet. Our club is run entirely by volunteers and we have never been more in need of coaches and team managers.

We have a genuine, pressing need for you to get involved. We'd love loads of parents to jump in and help out however they can. It's not unusual that one (exhausted) person (Club Secretary, Cathie) finds herself coaching three teams in one season (her role is SO undemanding... not).

It is genuinely fun

Camaraderie is just one of the many things that make us such a great club to be part of. (Here's another one - six of our seven teams made finals last season, four came out winners.)

Perhaps this Q&A will convince you

  • Never coached netball before?
    We'll support you!

  • Don't know the rules?
You'll be coaching a grand final team in no time!

  • Not available every week?
Share the role with another parent, or set up a coaching co-op!

  • Hate netball?
    Hahaha. No you don't.

The unfortunate reality is that if we can't find coaches, we may be forced to have parents share the co-coaching and management their child's team, on a rotational basis. Please get in touch by email.

Jewellery & Nails Policy

The Association (SAUCNA) has a strict policy with which our club complies. It is important that you know and comply with the policy. It exists to ensure player safety. Umpires will not allow anyone in contravention of this policy on court.

If you/your child have Christmas piercings in mind consider getting it done as an early gift, when the season breaks for holidays. They'll be in for the required 6 weeks and can be removed when season starts up again in 2026.

The SAUCNA Jewellery & Nails Policy

  • Players shall not wear adornments (jewellery, bobbles, combs, metal headbands, hair beads, earrings, studs or other accessories), including those plaited into the hair.

  • Piercings cannot be taped; they must be removed

  • Players are NOT permitted to play with piercings of any type.

  • Diarth piercings, in the ear/s, may be worn once a medical certificate has been presented to the relevant subcommittee Secretary and permission received in writing.

  • A wedding ring may be worn, but only if it is taped.

  • Umpires shall ensure that each player has short and smooth fingernails before each player is permitted to play.

  • No player shall play with long or sharp nails under any circumstances.

  • As per the World Netball 2024 Rule 3 (part 12h), hair must be suitably tied back.
